Hyundai Tucson: Front Suspension System / Front Lower Arm Repair procedures
1. |
Remove the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
88.25 ~ 117.68 N.m (9.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)
|
Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the front wheel & tire. |
|
2. |
Loosen the bolt & nut.
Tightening torque :
98.1 ~ 117.7N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.6lb-ft)

Do not use a bar to release the lower arm from the knuckle. |

3. |
Remove the lower arm from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-4R100).
(1) |
Install the support bolt (A) from bolt hole. |
(2) |
Install the support body (B) from front axle. |
(3) |

Loosen the bolts & nuts and then remove the front lower arm (A).
Tightening torque :
Fornt
98.1 ~ 117.7N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.6lb-ft)
Rear
137.3 ~ 156.9N.m (14.0 ~ 16.0kgf.m, 101.3 ~ 115.7lb-ft)

Installation is the reverse of removal. |
1. |
Remove the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
88.25 ~ 117.68 N.m (9.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)

2. |

Remove the lower arm from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-4R100).

Install the support bolt (A) from bolt hole. |

Install the support body (B) from front axle. |

Disconnet the ball joint after loosening the nut (A).
Tightening torque :
117.7 ~ 137.3 N.m (12.0 ~ 14.0 kgf.m, 86.6 ~ 101.3 lb-ft)

Using a plastic hammer, remove the ball joint.

5. |
Install the new ball joint and then tighten the nut (A). |
Tightening torque :
117.7 ~ 137.3 N.m (12.0 ~ 14.0 kgf.m, 86.6 ~ 101.3 lb-ft)

Check the ball joint bushing for wear and deterioration. |
2. |
Check the lower arm for deformation. |
3. |
Inspec all the bolts and nuts. |
4. |
In case of grease leaks at the ball joint, replace it. |
5. |
Check the ball joint by moving it by hands, and if the ball join comes loose, replace it. |
Replacement
1.
Remove the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts ...
Replacement
1.
Remove the front wheel & tire.
Tightening torque :
88.3 ~ 107.9 N.m(9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.1 ~ 79.6 lb-ft)
