Inspection

1.	Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.	Disconnect the solenoid valve connector.

3.	Measure resistance between sensor signal terminal and sensor ground terminal.

4.	Check that the resistance is within the specification.

Removal

1.	Remove the air cleaner assembly and air duct. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Air cleaner")

2.	Remove the battery and battery tray. (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

3.	Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

Remove the drain plug (A) and reinstall the drain plug after draining ATF totally.

Drain plug tightening torque :

38.2 ~ 48.1 N.m (3.9 ~ 4.9 kgf.m, 28.2 ~ 35.4 lb-ft)

Replace the gasket before reinstalling the drain plug.

5.	Disconnect the air breather hose (A) from the valve body cover after disconnecting the clamp (B).

Remove the valve body cover (A).

Tightening torque :

(B) 13.7 ~ 15.7 N.m (1.4 ~ 1.6 kgf.m, 10.1 ~ 11.6 lb-ft)

7.	Remove the bolts.

Disconnect the solenoid valve connector (B) and the oil temperature sensor (A) from the valve body.

Tightening torque :

9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

Remove the solenoid valve support bracket (A).

Tightening torque :

9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

10.	Remove the torque converter control solenoid valve (A).

Installation

Installation is the reverse of removal.

•	When installing, apply the ATF oil or white vaseline to the O-ring (A) not to be damaged.

•	Replace the valve body gasket (A) before reinstalling the valve body cover.

•	Adding automatic transaxle fluid. (Refer to Hydraulic system - "Fluid" )

•	Perform TCM learning after replacing the automatic transaxle to prevent slow automatic transaxle response, jerky acceleration and jerky startup. (Refer to "Automatic transaxle control system - "Repair procedures")
